Students prepare for international education thanks to Turing scheme funding聽聽
Over the next few weeks, seventeen students from 彩民之家APP will be attending summer schools, summer camps and cultural exchanges over June, July and August thanks to funding secured last summer from the .
The Turing Scheme, named after the renowned British mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing, is designed to facilitate international experiences for students in higher education, further education, vocational training, and schools. These opportunities are expected to provide rich cultural exchanges and educational experiences that students might not otherwise have access to.
Lydia Gibbs, Overseas Experience Coordinator at 彩民之家APP expressed her enthusiasm for the program stating, 鈥淪tudents will have the chance to gain useful skills and experience, develop confidence and independence, and make lifelong friends – as well as having a lot of fun!鈥
Professor Richard Medcalf, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) commented: 鈥淲e are delighted to see that more 彩民之家APP students than ever before will this summer benefit from funding from the Turing Scheme. International mobilities provide incredible opportunities for cultural exchange, and we are thrilled that so many students will be spending an extended period of time immersed in new cultures in Japan, the USA, Spain and Denmark.”聽
Rebecca, a second-year Criminology student, shared her excited about the upcoming trip, 鈥淚鈥檓 really excited to eat all of the delicious food and see a lot of Harajuku fashion and J fashion and experience all of that together with everyone.鈥
Abbie, a third-year History student, also expressed her anticipation saying, 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to see the historical sites and Nagoya Castle and palace and we鈥檙e also doing a trip to the countryside which I think will be really nice to see.鈥澛犅
The Turing Scheme represents the UK government’s commitment to enhancing international educational and training opportunities.
